Filed March 6, 1873
John Elliott, CK
In the Estate of
William Derrickson
Andrew R. Derrickson
Guardian
Said Guardian shows to the Court of Common Pleas of Shelby
County Indiana that said William Derrickson is the owner of
the undivided sixty-three two hundred and fortieth (63/240)
of the following tract and parcel of land situate in said County
of Shelby and State of Indiana to wit; The South half of the West
half of the South West quarter of section nineteen (19) in
Township twelve (12) North of Range seven (7) East containing
forty-one (41) acres more or less, except that portion heretofore
conveyed by David Johnson and wife to the trusted of Addison
Township for school purposes. Which said Real Estate is subject
to an Estate therein for the life of Mary Derrickson the mother
of said bond and which said Real Estate is the probable value of
$200 Dollars and is all the Real Estate owned by said ward, that
said ward is not the owner of any personal estate which has come
to the knowledge or possession of your petitioner and he has no
personal estate dependant upon the settlement of any Estate or
upon the settlement of any Estate or upon the execution of any
trust, that said Real Estate around by said ward does not produce
any rents to him and cannot while the said Mary Derrickson lives
and she is now about 47 years of age, and is in reasonably good
health, that said ward is nineteen years old and resides with your
petitioner who is his father in said County, that the other joint
owners of said tract of land have sold their interests therein
and it is for the manifest advantage of said ward to sell his
said interest in said tract of land, and re-invest the proceeds
thereof in other lands for said wards and your petitioner so
proposes to re-invest the proceeds of such sale if said land can
be sold, and it would be for the interest of said ward to sell said
Real Estate at private sale without giving any notice of the time
or place of such sale the therefore asks for an appraisement of
said Real Estate so owned by said ward and a sale thereof upon
such terms as the Court may deem proper, and for such further
order in the premises as may be necessary
