To all to whom these Presents shall Come:
Whereas William Derrickson
of Taylor County is entitled to certain estate in this State; and,
Whereas, Andrew R. Derrickson has pewtitioned for the appointment of himself as Guardian of the estate of said minor; and
Whereas, The said Andrew R. Derrickson has entered into bonds for the faithful performance of his duty as such:
Now, Therefore, Know Ye, and all to whom it may concern, that the said Andrew R. Derrickson is hereby appointed Guardian of the estate of William Derrickson minor as aforesaid, with full power to demand, sue for, and take possession of all money and estate belonging to his said ward, and in general, to do all other acts which appertain to him in his said capacity, and as the law shall charge him.

Given under my hand and the seal of the Circuit Court of said County, this 12th day of July A.D., 1873

J.E. Fleming clerk of the circuit court of the state of Iowa in and for Taylor County do hereby certify that the within is a true copy of the letters of guardianship this day granted to Andrew R. Derrickson and his confirmation as such Guardian and that the security on his said bond is amply sufficient to secure the penalty of said bond. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto saed (sp?) my my hand and cannd (sp?) the seal of said court to be affixed this 12th day of July A.D. 1873 at Redford in said county and state

Hewitt sole Judge of the third Judicial Circuit of the state of Iowa do hereby certify that the within copy of letters of Guardianship and the annexed copy of bond of Guardian are in due form of law and that the signature of the clerk and the seal curch(sp?) attached are genuine and the said Clerk is the siting Clerk of the said Court.State of Iowa,

Copy of Guardian (??)

Know all Men by these presents that I A.R. Derrickson as principal and John R. Larsen as surety all of the county of Taylor in the State of Iowa, are held and firmly bond unti said county for the use of William Derrickson in the final sum of five hundred dollars for the payment of which, well and truly to be made we do bind ourselves and over lawful representatives when our hands and seats this 12th day of July 1873.

The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above named A.R. Derrciskon who has been appointed Guardian of the said William Derrickson shall faithfully discharge the office and trust of such Guardian according to can(sp?) and shall render a fair and just account of said Guardianship from time to time whenever thereunto required by law and render and pay to said minor all monies, goods, and chattles, tithe papers and effects which come to the hands or possession of such Guardian belonging to such minor when such minor shall be entitled thereto in to every subsequent Guardian should the proper court so decree-the this obligation to be said or otherwise remain in full force and virtue.
