Help Your Community And Your Watershed!!

Sat. Sept. 18th, 25th, Oct 2nd, and 9th

Eagle Service Project
Working on The Hayman Burn Area Restoration

Help your community and watershed by saving tree seedlings in the burn area! Recent rains have fostered the growth of weeds and vegetation around tree seedlings in the burn area, threatening their survival. The tree seedlings will eventually reforest the burn area; preserving the watershed and restoring the natural habitat we all enjoy observing and using. But they can’t do their job if they are dead! Your help is essential if this project is going to be a success. Take a day and help clear the weeds and vegetation away from the trees so the trees can do their job. Take a day and give to our forests and all who enjoy them. Take a day and give the gift of nature’s beauty to yourself!

The carpool to the work area meets on the dates above at 7:45 am at Woodland Park Community Church and returns at 6:00pm. Please show up early to sign in and sign the Forest Service’s waver. If you’re under 18, you’ll need an adult to sign with you. There is a map on back. Please bring a hat, work gloves, sunscreen, water bottle, work clothes, and any garden hoes you can find! Lunch will be provided.   Please RSVP if you can to the project leader, Alex Haase (me), at (719)-687-1813 or the website below for logistical purposes. Leave a message with your name, phone number, days you can volunteer, if you have a garden hoe to bring, and, if you have garden hoes, how many. Also note if you require a ride or if you can drive others. Please support this service day!

Want to help but can’t come? I need all the volunteers I can get for this service project to be a success. If you can’t come, I understand, but I could still use your help to get enough tools and transportation for the volunteers. I need as many garden hoes as I can find for each service day, and drivers to transport people on the day itself. I could also use some people to make calls during the day. If you can help in these or any other ways, call (719)-687-1813 and tell me!  Please help get this project done!
