I've been in love with that wonderful Ducati sound since the early 90's but could never afford one until 2 years ago, when a wonderful 900SS came into my life. I used to go to Phoenix for the AMA races in the early 90's, stand up near the high banking (about 3 feet of concrete banking away) and listen to the 851's and 888's of Polen and Corser scream by at 180 mph. Now that's heaven. BaaaaWWWwaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh So, I got this 900SS and what a hoot it was, but it just was missing a little something. Mostly legroom, but some sick twisted mind (me) decides that he needs a superbike. Nobody needs a superbike of course, but never, ever take a ride on one, unless you intend on buying one, cuz that's what happens. If you could go for a ride on a 748 and not come back with a grin on your face, something is seriously wrong with you. So, while loving my 748, I never ride it and it basically sits in my garage and looks pretty. (and it really does look pretty). So, one day at a meeting of my friends, I mention that I'm looking for something different to trade it in on and another Ducati buddy, Sean Bell says "we should trade" What? We should trade. He bought a 1999 ST4 brand new as a two up bike. His wife is now pregnant and so no more two up riding for many moons. But he does need a track bike. We go riding to trade, and both very excited, we do the deal. Check out my new toy, a ST4.
