Ducati ST4
So, I traded Sophia (748) for this
ST4 with a friend. I got plates on it and cleaned it up. If you know Sean,
you know that cleaning bikes is the absolute last thing he does. The one
thing that Sean didn't get in the trade was the very cool clutch cover, which not only isn't
made anymore to my knowledge but also was a gift from a very dear friend.
It moves from bike to bike. I tell you what, once you get Ducati's in your
blood, you are just stuck. And once you test ride a ST4, you will own one. What
a neat bike. Great riding position, wonderful power, beautiful suspension
and hard bags. Hard bags kick a$$. I love hard bags. I don't
really see this as a long distance rider for me (but check this
out here for some ironbutt guys who have rallied out their ST4's). I
see it as more of a day tripper and an occasional fill in to commute to work
on. But mostly just some fun riding. I will however admit, that this
is a PERFECT Montana bike and it may get to take a long trip up to Lolo Pass
next year. I also think I need to earn another SaddleSore 1000 for this
bike too.

| It's got a Corbin saddle already on it, but besides that,
it's mostly stock. Yes, I
know it's a touring bike , but it's a Ducati, and Ducati's have to have
pipes. It's the law. I swear. BCM makes some bar risers
that go up 1/2 an inch, which I think will be perfect, and those are on it
now.y. The Staintune pipes are on it now and they are just amazing.
Big booming deep baritone sound. But with the spud in, they are pretty
quiet. The bar risers are nice, add a little comfort and not noticeable |

One more view. Probably tweak it a bit over the
winter, some SS brake lines (although they are very good to begin with),
some Carbon Fiber (just because it's a Ducati, again, it's the law).
RKA tankbag is
already here and installed, very nice as always. Wonderful people too. I also got
some adjustable brake and clutch levers from Pro
Italia, which are pretty trick, although I only wanted them because I have
big hands. I also got the Pro Italia clutch slave cylinder. So
sweet, reduces the effort by a lot, and much better made. Recommended
highly for any Ducati to replace that piece of crap stock one. |
