DTS Download Page

On this page, you'll find several files which can help you in doing research for starship names, classes, and registries. They have some of the biggest listings of ship names and types compiled anywhere, including over 4,000 hulls!

All the ships and classes on the listings here are pre-approved. That means if you pick a name/NCC combination or a class from the lists in these files, it will all-but-automatically get the stamp of approval. It's always faster to choose a pre-approved ship or ship type than it is to propose a new one, although the design-process can be a lot of fun, as well.

Now, on to the good stuff:

Note: These files are all in Adobe Acrobat format (.pdf)

Known Federation Starship Classes

Ship Classes in Starfleet
Starship Classification Codes

These two or three letter codes are used in conjunction with the ship's registry number to provide a "shorthand" to see what kind of ship is being talked about. For example:

CH 1701 Enterprise is the heavy cruiser U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701

(The usage is a lot like the way the Navy does it in reality.)

Starships in Starfleet

The next two files contain lists of the fictionally-established Starfleet ships in the Star Trek Universe. The files provide this information in two ways, alphabetically and by registry/NCC number. (In the numeric file, if a range of NCCs is known, but not every ship-name in that class is identified, this is indicated. Such "unnamed ranges" would be excellent places for prospective Starfleet chapters to "fill in" a class.)

These lists will be updated periodically, and new features may be added to this page, as well, so please check back from time to time.

Timeline of Star Trek History
By Alex Rosenzweig

This is a "Special Feature". This is a timeline of the Star Trek Universe, from 1969-2376, including material from episodes, movies, books, comics, tech manuals, and more. It's a bit different in style from many of the other timelines and chronologies, and we think you might enjoy it. To check it out, click below!
