STARFLEET Shuttlecraft Operations Command (ShOC) is now Shakedown Operations the branch of
STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. ShOC’s "Prime Directive" is to encourage and foster growth of new chapters in Starfleet, so that all can have fun within the realm of the Star Trek Universe
This is a tribute to the following seven astronauts of the Shuttle Columbia who reached out and touched the stars. Air Force Colonel Rick D. Husband (Shuttle Commander), Navy Commander William McCool (Shuttle Pilot),Air Force Lt. Colonel Michael P. Anderson (Payload Commander), Navy Captain David M. Brown (Mission Specialist 1), Kalpana (KC) Chowla, from India (Mission Specialist 2), Navy Commander Laurel Blair Salton Clark (Mission Specialist 3), Israeli Air Force Colonel Ilan Ramon, from Tel Aviv, Israel (payload specialist 1). They did this for the service of mankind's curiosity and desire to explore the realm of the stars. But for unforseen circumstances they were unable to return home to share their findings and information with the scientific community and also their stories of space with their friends and loved ones. We of this organization salute you, your bravery and courage! We sincerely hope that the stars that you find in the new realm will be filled with joy and happiness. To those families and friends of these seven astronauts we offer our condolonces and hope that you find solace for the fact that they went to the stars with the hopes and dreams of all mankind!
