This was a plain little box from Rynnes China. It had a major dark spot on top of the box. The spot was under tape, so I didn't see the major flaw. Rather than return the piece, I tried to find a way to design around the problem. The black green grounding is a great way to salvage the piece.

Sometimes I learn more about overcoming a problem than I do when painting on a perfect piece of china. (I still prefer perfect pieces, however).
