My name is Sonya Chinn. I am located in Colorado Springs,
CO. I have been sewing and working with textiles since I was a small child over
40 years ago.
I enjoyed sewing so much that I chose to major in Interiors and Apparel
Marketing and Management at Walla Walla College.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 1987.
Quilting has been a passion for me since the early 1980’s. When I was working
full time and later when I had children I found that I did not have enough time
to complete my projects in the traditional manner. I eventually quilted some
quilts with my domestic sewing machine, but found even that to be cumbersome. I
dreamed about an industrial quilting machine for several years, but did not have
the space for it. When we moved into our home here in Colorado Springs
in 1999, my husband surprised me by ordering a Gammill Optimum
quilting machine. I haven’t looked back. The machine provides much greater
freedom to achieve beautiful finished quilts. A couple of years ago I added an A-1 as a second machine. I currently use the A-1 for the majority of my custom work. Please take a few minutes to visit
