Estimating Quilting Charge: To determine roughly what the charge for quilting would be, measure your quilt vertically and horizontally. Multiply those two numbers to arrive at total square inches. Once you have the total square inches multiply that by the rate for the type of quilting you desire and you have arrived at the total quilting charge.

For example if you had a quilt that measured 90” X 60” the math would be like this: 90 X 60 = 5400 square inches. If you selected Simple Pantograph quilting, you would multiply 5400 by $0.01 to come up with a total of $54.00

I have elected to charge by the square inch because that is easiest for me. However if you would like to know the price by square foot or by square yard this is how it translates:

Basting: $0.72 per square foot, $6.44 per square yard.
Simple Pantograph Quilting: $1.44 per square foot, $12.96 per square yard.
Complex Pantograph Quilting: $2.16 to $2.88 per square foot, $19.44 to $25.92 per square yard.
Custom Quilting: $4.32 to $5.04  per square foot, $38.88 to $45.36 per square yard.
Heirloom Quilting: $5.76 to $6.48 per square foot, $51.84 to $58.32  per square yard.
Trapunto Quilting: $7.92 to $9.36per square foot, $71.28 to $84.24 per square yard.

Patterns:  There are hundreds if not thousands of quilt patterns available.  You can view many of the patterns available by going to the links section of this web page and choosing a company.  Take a look at their patterns.  Please keep in mind a large portion of the custom and heirloom work I do is not taken from these patterns.
