The Kindergarten Room (a 56 kB jpeg file).

The room that was under construction in the '95 pictures turned out looking like this. Great progress!

Laurie and kids. (a 79 kB jpeg file).

Because of isolation due to vaccination, we were unable to spend time with the children in the main orphanage this trip. However, we were able to spend some time with the kids at the Distrofik Hospital.

The Quintet (a 74 kB jpeg file).

At a youth meeting at a church in Sambateni, we were fortunate to

The Arad Cultural Palace (a 96 kB jpeg file).

A new experience in Arad was to attend a concert at the Arad Cultural Palace. This building has been beautifully restored. I was attracted to this ceiling detail.

Developing a Youth Camp

Youth Camp (a 53 kB jpeg file).

One new area of work for the Romanians is the development of a youth camp. They recently purchased this area of land for this project.

Pete Gibson (a 61 kB jpeg file).

The person driving the funding and the work for the youth camp is Pete Gibson, a missionary from the US. Pete resides in Arad with his wife, Barbara.

If you want, you can send email to Pete.

Digging a Pit (a 67 kB jpeg file).

One of the first things needed at the camp was pits for the toilet facilities. We spent considerable effort digging two holes like this the day we were at the camp. We also did some brush clearing and did lots of wading through stinging nettle.
