An open letter to President Obama

Dear Mr. President,

You don’t know me and our paths have never crossed. We don’t run in the same social circles.

I’m a concerned Vietnam Veteran, who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic. I watched you take that same oath as President of the United States. When I took that oath I did not do it lightly, nor do I expect you to take it lightly either.

However I feel compelled to address your conduct as our duly elected president. You as are all public officials elected by the people to work for the people of this great nation. It is your duty to hold yourself to a higher standard, both publicly and privately. It is my opinion that your view of the world and life in general is somewhat skewed.

There is still public doubt over your citizenship status. Why do you not put those rumors to rest by personally obtaining from the Hawaiian Office of Public Records a verified copy of your official birth certificate? You then publicly display it for all to see and end the debate thereby erasing the doubt over this one matter. As a US citizen that is within your power to do. Failure to produce that copy should be grounds to step down and turn the presidency over to one who is qualified for office.

Other issues I have with your conduct can be attributed to the fact that based on your background your only military experience seems to be as Commander In Chief. There are many customs and courtesies that are taught to trainees upon entering military service. Many of those are simply reinforcements of time honored common sense taught by our parents and grandparents. I find it irreprehensible for anyone to not render proper respect for our nation’s flag, and national anthem. You seem to place little value on any of these which are symbolic of our nation. Failure to return salutes rendered by honor guards and military officials is disrespectful.

Remember, the flag of the United States is dipped to NO OTHER FLAG. The President of the United States BOWS TO NO OTHER. His allegiance is to the nation and to God.

I take issue with many elements of your address to the Muslim world like when you said that America does not have any issue with Islam. We have no issue with Muslims, but we do have an issue with Islam. As you well know by your background and upbringing there is a huge difference between Muslims and Islam. Muslim is a religion; Islam is a form of government. Do not mistake the two. They are not interchangeable.  Muslims tend to follow the teachings of Mohammad in the Koran; Islamic fundamentalists want to convert the world to Islam by force if necessary. It is Islamic Law being enforced, often by intimidation, and threats of death on people who simply want to be treated with respect and left alone to live freely as we do. Islamic fundamentalists do not respect human life. That sir is just plain wrong.

Contrary as to your statement to the Muslim world, The United States of America was founded and is based upon biblical principles.  We are a Christian nation. It is left wing extremist groups within our borders and now your voice from the White House that declares openly that our nation is not a Christian nation.  That sir is way wrong. Instead of cowering to nations who are openly hostile to the United States, why are you not speaking up this great nation which YOU NOW LEAD?

These fundamentalists are in effect taking the same techniques and methodology as Islamic fundamentalist terrorists and during your speech you did not use the word “terrorist” once.

This is In effect saying that God does not exist in our nation. These extremists want to ban God from our lives and clearly a violation of the Article I of the Constitution, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;” 

Another false statement you made to the world indicated that our nation is a Muslim nation? I don’t think so. Muslimism is not the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States, Fundamental Christianity is. It makes me ill to have the President of the United States play with religion as it suits you politically. Jesus said that if you deny him publicly, He will deny you before the Father (God).  Sir you’ve crossed the line on so many levels it makes me worrisome for this country as a nation.

Please pay attention to what you do and say, replace your speech writers if necessary then get speech writers with integrity on your staff. That may be hard when you surround yourself with free thinkers who think like you do and rubber stamp your ideas, even when you’re wrong. It’s been said that you write many of your own speeches. You may want to rethink that.

As President of the United States, you were not elected to become CEO of Banking and Automotive Industries. Your bailout is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars which we do not have. There are many pork barrel projects tacked into it at least one for each state that waste billions of taxpayer dollars. Please stop this wasteful spending immediately and hold everyone accountable, as we the American people hold you accountable.

Do not jeopardize the United States by further disgraceful decisions. Prisoners in the war on terrorism should be charged, tried and executed. Those who are found innocent should be released to their native countries, period. Do not allow suspected terrorists or illegal aliens to come freely into this country or any other country where they can recruit and train more radicals who will rise up against our military forces in combat. That sir is a major national security issue of the utmost importance.

It also worries me that a far left wing radical communist president of a prominent South American nation would place his political views to the right of YOU? He’s closer to the O’Reilly point of view than you are! And to think that you are taking cues from a little known book called the Alinsky Rules for Radicals that was printed in 1972? I’m surprised by your resorting to these disdainful tactics.

As the president you have repeatedly referred to your predecessor as the source of all our nation’s woes. Were you not a member of congress during that administration? Did you not vote yea or nay on major issues during your term? Or were you sleeping? When are you going to step up and take responsibility for YOUR ACTIONS and quit blaming others?

Another national security concern I have is that as President of the United States you should not be having access to or carrying a cell phone or blackberry. The pictures of you publicly strolling around with yours in hand make me worried. There are reports of hackers already getting into some of your personal email or text based correspondences. Do you not listen to the secret service? Do they not tell you that it’s a major security issue? What happens when emails and email addresses from your address book hit the internet and leaders of the free world are made vulnerable because of this serious violation on your part?

Now for the date night trip to New York, would it not have been more cost effective for the play or band to come to the Lincoln Center, where you could have strolled across the street? Have not other presidents done that in the past? Who paid for your secret service escort and/or tickets to the theatre you chose? Was that reimbursed by you or paid for by taxpayer dollars?

What about your public statement about public officials should not go to Las Vegas on government expense, and one week later you land Air Force One at Nellis AFB and go to raise money for a democratic candidate, but not even respond to an invitation by the Governor of Nevada for an audience with you while you are in his state?

Sir you are not practicing what you preach!  You demand financial responsibility from others, yet go out of your way to create a national debt we may not be able to recover from. And you and your administration have the audacity to blame it on your predecessor?

Do not let your presidency lead to a repeat of the fall of the Roman Empire!

I didn’t vote for you, nor do I share your political views. I am not a lawyer, nor a political scholar, but simply an ordinary citizen who is a committed Christian (follower of Jesus Christ) who is concerned about your conduct and I question your political agenda.

I do not have an agenda, but rather want to see responsibility and ownership by you and your administration for the actions YOU have taken in the past 150 days.
