Is "God Real"? Most of the western civilized world once believed there was a God. That's basically because the Church had intellectual leaders that were able to accurately explain the reasons for such a belief. But as intellectualism was lost in the Church, people started believing strange. un-Godlike things, such as aliens and psychic powers, since they lacked any clear direction. They also came up with a number of Godless theories: theories that attempted to explain the origin of humanity and the universe itself. These theories have been brought into the scientific field and have been widely accepted because they are believed to be the only "rational" explanations for our existence. In recent years, however, science has been taking strides towards realizing the need, once again, for an intelligent, personal Creator. In addition, the Bible is the only holy book in which creation is accurately described and is, therefore, the only reliable source for information about this Creator. Thus, God's reality can be demonstrated for many different reasons.

Beliefs have certainly, changed over time. Founders of the Christian religion were philosophers, theologians, and logicians that reasoned out our doctrines. During the Second is Great Awakening, thousands of people became Christian, literally overnight. Because of that, churches began having un-intellectual leaders. Satan began to move on the church's weaknesses. People such as Darwin, Freud, Nietzche, and Marx came into the picture and created un-Godlike theories that were widely accepted in the scientific field. The Church recoiled into its own little shell of belief and science. Because the Church kept quiet, Godlessness spread through our country, and the world, like a wildfire

Today, in America, science is considered truth. Science states that "If it can be tested, it is trust worthy." Never mind that you can't test that statement. This truth is determined by a scientific Plausibility Structure.

A Plausibility Structure is a category into which all actions and theories that are performed in an area of scientific study must fall. Basically, it is the deciding factor in deciding whether an event, theory, etc, is a plausible cause or not. Take the round-earth theory for example. If someone proposes that earth is a cube, flat, etc. Their theory can be explored, but no matter how long and hard they argue, their theory is unplausible since it is useless in describing nature. Of course, they have a right to express their opinions, but they won't be taken seriously because science has demonstrated otherwise.

If anything falls outside this structure, it is considered a wild belief. Religion can not be scientifically tested so it fails outside of the Plausibility Structure. However, Christianity claims that it can be tested for truth, To validate its claim, it must be testable against itself, meaning that it can't contradict itself. It must also be testable by history (it matches archeological records), and it must be testable against science (it accurately describes the natural world). If it fails these tests it cannot proclaim that it is absolute truth. If on the other hand, it passes these tests, while no other religion does, it can be in proclaimed as the only truthful religion.

Science cannot explain everything. It has yet to adequately explain how the universe came about and how life first began. For anything science cannot explain, it is logical to conclude that it was engineered by God or it happened by random chance. As will be demonstrated shortly, placing a faith on chance is a much greater leap of faith than placing a faith on God.

One thing that can be proven is that all religious books, besides the Bible, are not accurate when it comes to science or logic. That means that if God does exist, the Bible is the only book written by Him. If God exists and if he has communicated with man, the Bible is the way that He chose to communicate with us, and by no other way. This can be proven through logical deduction.

How did the universe begin'? Was it a "Big Bang"'? If so, what caused the Big Bang? Equations and astronomical observations show that the universe is expanding and decelerating. Only one Earthphenomenon behaves the same way: an explosion. For example, when a grenade is detonated, the pieces of the grenade move outward from the pin. As it expands. it decelerates because it collides with materials and air. If the universe was really caused it by an explosion, then there must have been a beginning to the explosion. The simple law of cause and effect states that it must have had a Beginner or 'someone to pull the pin'. Logic states that "To be a beginning, there must be a Beginner." The most logical conclusion, therefore, is that the universe was created by a Superior Being: God. Even Albert Einstein came to this realization.

Certain Biblical statements have been proven by modern science. In many cases, the Bible didn't go with the common belief during that time. For one, in 1 Corinthians 15:4 1, the Bible states that every star is different and science has proven that. But, the belief during Bible times was that all stars were exactly the same.

In Job 26:7, it says that Earth is suspended in empty space. The common belief during Bible times was that the Earth is floating in a cosmic ocean of water. Modem science states that the Earth is held in empty space by gravity. Science also says that air has weight. People in Biblical times thought that air was weightless, but the Bible says that air has weight, Job 28:25. In Biblical times, people believed the universe was stationary and perpetual. Science and the Bible both say that the universe is expanding: Isaiah 40:22b.

What about evolution? It is very interesting that the theory of evolution does not address how everything started; it does not explain where the first cell came from. We can assume that the processes involved in: "forming" the very first cell came from. We can assume that the processes involved in "forming" the very first life form is far too complex for us humans to accomplish since we have never made a cell in a lab from scratch. Strangely, evolution expects nature to do it naturally! Many scientists, however, not yet a majority, are taking evolution out of sciences Plausibility Structure. Why? Because they've discovered that no matter how much time was given, biochemical processes and organelles in cells are far too complex to have been shaped by gradual processes.

Where did the first cell (it was the first organism) come from? From molecules bumping into each other? Where did the molecules come from? No matter how far you can narrow it down, Beginnersomething is always left unexplained. Where did it come from? The only rational answer is that God created it; God put it there.

The probability of a cell forming by random chance is extremely thin. The odds of all the necessary things coming together to form a planet that is able to support life is also remarkably slim. The chances of that happening are 1 in 10 raised to the 105th power.

With so many scientific evidences, many, people have come to a conclusion that there is a personal, real God. Christianity is testable against itself, testable by history, and it is also testable by science. It doesn't fail those tests. As said earlier, the universe is like a grenade. They both move outward from the starting point. The starting point could also be called the pin assembly. Since the universe's expansion is so much like a grenade's expansion, we can determine one thing: someone had to "pull the pin."

There are a lot of different ways by which the realness of God can be shown. To me, there is absolutely no question as to whether there is or isn't a God. For one, the only explanation for anything is that God's hand was in it. Also, what He has done in my life, personally, is unmistakably His work. Nothing in the universe could demonstrate the same love and power that is constantly coming from Him. There is a God. While writing this paper, I learned what the different theories are, but more importantly it has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father. I wrote this research paper because I belong to Jesus and I'm helping to take back His holy ground. God has completely motivated me and has helped me write this. I can't help but praise Him for all that He has done and all that He is going to do.
