The Household Of

Thunder Gorge

April 25, 1999

Today, Thunder Gorge met at the home of our Matriarch, Lady Branwyn. The meeting started at noon and the last brother left at 8 pm! Twas a wonderful day. We opened with a circle and followed with making Lyssa a silver level. Lady Branwyn is happy to announce to all Thunder Brothers and Sisters that AElfric has been named the Patriarch of Thunder Gorge. Please send your congratulations and words of support to him at aelfric6@aol.com He may also be contacted by U.S. Mail at:

We all broke for a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant, Magie Mae's, about 4 pm then returned to Branywn's home for long goodbyes.

This page first went on line October 4, 1997, and in that time a lot of changes have happened with thunder especially here on the internet and e-mail. Mom is now on line! Welcome to the twenty-first..I mean...the sixteenth century and Rolling Thunder on line! I admit to being remiss in keeping this page updated with Thunder Happenings of late, and for that I appologize. If I could figure out how to get along with no sleep, there would be just about enough hours in the day to take care of everything. Seigneur Marc-Antoine de Laclos (Grog) of House Rogue Thunder, however has NOT been so remiss in keeping Thunder's house in order and has created a wonderful webpage that will include all the Thunderlinks you need. To access Grog's Page click here.

To the best of my knowledge, the links below are accurate, however, if you have any updates or changes that I don't know about, wish a link added to your page or one you have found that you think is A common interest to Thunder, drop me a line!
As usual, watch for the "new" flags as you revisit for the things that have been added.

Reginald

A Short History of Thunder Gorge

Our founding Patriarch and Matriarch, Lord Brendan Coyle and Lady Isabelle Boshette met as members of Rolling Thunder in what is now the Kingdom of Drachenwald (Germany) and were very active members of both the SCA and their Rolling Thunder household. After relocating to the Baronies of Caerthe and Dragonsspine respectively in the Kingdom of the Outlands and renewing their friendship, they felt a need to perpetuate the ideals of Rolling Thunder.
At Fall Family Feast in 1991 the proposal was made to create a group in their home baronies. After approval, a name had to be selected. The name, Thunder Gorge, comes from the famous bridge known as the Royal Gorge near the Shire of Aarquelle just south of the Barony of Dragonsspine.
The original founding members of Thunder Gorge, Lord Reginald of the Fells, Lord Corwyn ap Branwyn, and Lady Branwyn ni Ceallaigh (our current Matriarch) were invited into the household at Estrella VIII in 1992 followed soon after by Lord Galen and Lord (now Baron) Knut. The current Household consists of 15 members and continues to grow.
As the size of our membership grows, so grows our geographical area. Our membership has expanded nearly to the Wyoming Border. Our Matriarch, Lady Branwyn, has personally appointed Aelfric of the Black Arrow as her official representative in the far reaches of the Northern Outlands. For more information on Thunder in the north, he can also be reached at (303) 635-0253.

The background for this page is an actual scan of Lady Branywn's thunderwheel and lightning bolt. She is proud to be a part of the ideals and friendship and brotherhood it represents, honored to wear it, and happy to have it be a part of our clans' presentation to all who visit here.

Rogue Thunder's thunderchat room is not currently available. I received the following message from Grog: The chat room has officially bit the big one. It was a good idea but the medium stunk. We now have the choice of going to IRC or getting everyone on ICQ. I'm going to send a copy of this message to all the Thunders on ICQ. I'll also send email to all the others. Let's get together and make a decision on this before it falls by the wayside." Please send e-mail direct to Grog if you have any comments or suggestions. (Note: this is a new e-mail address for him.) Don't let this great idea fade away like an old soldier. If there is interest in downloading IRC or ICQ software leave mail to Reginald and links to these will be added here also.

The following clans do not yet have internet links. If you know a link to any of these or find any link errors, please inform Lord Reginald and they will be added.
