UH-HUH
They met in a restaurant late at night.
She was waitin’ tables; he was grabbin’ a bite.
While stocking the booth where he sat
Said, "Pass the sugar, sugar," and that was that.
Uh-huh.
The wedding was held at his daughter’s place;
Friends and family, champagne and lace.
A stay in the mountains - over too soon!
The start of a lifelong honeymoon.
Uh-huh.
For better, for worse, and a fine print clause
‘Bout a matching pair of mother-in-laws,
A house, a car, and kids to spare,
They kiss and make up in a lazy-boy chair.
Uh-huh.
In sickness and health, and an ex called "Fluff"
And another named George, they still hung tough.
They put in a garden, planted a tree,
Grew iris and roses and things that smell sweet.
Uh-huh.
A passionate pair, they roam the land,
With fishin’ pole and camera in hand.
Add palette and paint, a brush and rhyme
That guy and gal have a mighty fine time.
Uh-huh.
Now they’ve got a computer, they’re surfin’ the net,
Sendin’ out e-mail, home page on the web.
Sharin’ their joy in the things that they do.
Hey - if joy works for them it’ll work for you.
Uh-huh.
Oh yeah.
Uh-huh.
