This is me standing on a beach with the Bearing Sea behind me. While the terrain was rough and the weather was rougher still, I had a great time!

Our Planet Earth!

Surely we can find some common ground and learn to communicate with each other regardless of where we live, or what language we speak.  Lets all try and find a common bond between ourselves and try and learn something about each other and our cultures.  Sometimes  due to our own mistakes and short sightness we say things that hurt other people that we care for. I am talking about myself,  Sometimes we cannot see past our own ignorance to see the good and kindness in others. Hopefully I  now have my "Glasses of Life" on so I can see and know who my friends are. Thank you for taking the time out to read this.

Personal Interests

My personal Interest include

Amateur Radio (KB0SHF)
I enjoy being an Amateur radio operator because of the opportunity that it affords me to meet people and talk about similar interest. I also have an interest in electronics and communications and being a licensed amateur radio operator helps to satisfy this desire..
http://www.arrl.com (The definitive source on amateur radio)

Computers (Windows and the Mac) Get Microsoft Internet Explorer
Computers have always held a certain fascination with me. Since I was in High School when Main Frames and dumb terminals ruled to now when everyone has the power of a main frame on their desk. Computers when coupled with the Internet allow one to explore the world we live in, there by allowing us to learn more about each other and different cultures. We become closer and hopefully start understanding each other a little bit better. The wealth of information available online is mind boggling an almost endless array of data, sounds and video. We are able to communicate with people in all walks of life, countries and ages. Computers allow us the ability to compose and record music, videos and picture albums to share with others. Computers enable us to learn to increase our knowledge. For me one of my passions is writing, without the aid of a computer I'd be in real trouble as to anyone who has ever looked at some of my material can attest to. I believe that word spellers were invented just for me and I thank whomever originally came up this this idea. (^-^). Although my main computer and interest are Intel/Windows based I also have a small fondness for the Mac (keyword small) I use a Mac at work and was associated with Apple Computer for a number of years before they decided to bail out of the manufacturing business. Currently I am studying to become a MSCE.
http://www.netscape.com/ (Okay I gave you Internet Explorer so just to be fair, here is Netscape)

Hiking
I currently reside 8 miles south of Colorado Springs, Colorado in the US. We have a huge diversity of terrain here, deserts to the east and wooded mountains to the west. It is a very beautiful and peaceful area to live in. Consequently I love to go up into the mountains hiking. I do this as often as time allows and I'm not on the Internet. Most days I try and go for a walk around my housing area. You can see a lot of wild life around this area, Coyotes, Antelope, deer and of course squirrels. Most times when hiking up in the mountains I never see another person it is a very beautiful area with running water, tree's and flowers. The air is clear and clean.
Music
I love music so much in fact I usually have music playing all the time I am awake. I try and play music at work as well. I have a very wide range of interest when it comes to music. I like Classical music, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Movie themes, and Classic Rock and Roll. I currently have a CD collection of over 350 CDs and it is growing. I have recently acquired the ability to record my own music CD's which I am doing. I have a Teac 10 1/2 inch Reel to Reel Tape Deck, a Pioneer Cassette Deck, A Techniques Cassette Deck, a Pioneer Dolby Digital Pro-logic Surround Sound Receiver, A pioneer six-pack CD changer, a Carver CD player, a Carver Preamplifier control amp, a Carver Power Amp, a Pioneer Linear Tracking Turntable, 2 Panasonic Stereo HI-FI VCR's, a 51 inch Toshiba Monitor/TV, Toshiba Dual disc, DVD player  and a DSS Satellite Receiver for true digital audio and video. My main speakers are large AR-9's from Acoustic Research and my surround sound speakers are Infinities.
Currently I am looking to add some music from the Orient to my music collection to enhance my understanding of other cultures. I am particularly interested in acquiring additional music from Asia. I have the capability to produce my own music CD's here at home. Right now I'm in the process of archiving my old vinyl LP records onto CD's to preserve them.
Reading and Writing
I love reading a good novel. Some of my interest are Science Fiction and Action/Drama. Dr. Jerry Pournelle is one of my favorite Science Fiction authors as is Robert Heinlin. One of my favorite Action/Drama authors is Tom Clancy. I specially like to lie down in bed at night and read a good book and I also enjoy reading magazines probably to many as I have several thousand back issues of magazines lying around the house. I read audio/video magazines, computer magazines, science, news and Amateur Radio Magazines. Maybe it's time for some house cleaning what do you say?
Beer Making
Another favorite pass time of mine is that I like to brew my own beer. I usually reserve this activity to the fall and spring time but you can brew a batch of home made beer at anytime of the year. Micro-brew is fast catching on here in the States and many people are now enjoying a mug of their "Favorite" brew. As Charlie Papazian, the father of today's microbrewing revolution would say "Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew".

Making Friends
I love to make friends online and off. I will talk to anyone if they like. I pretty much get along with anyone and I am non argumentative and judgmental. You can trust me and I do not lie, so ask anything you want.   I have have had the wonderful opportunity to travel in the past and have met some very wonderful people. While I no longer have a job that allows me to travel for free as I once did I still enjoy learning about other cultures and countries through the medium of the Internet. Sometimes you can make some very wonderful friends. Take care and enjoy life to it's fullest you only get one life to enjoy. May there be no clouds in your life and may the sun shine down upon you and bring you joy and happiness.

Me

(What else did you think I was going to put here)?

I do not smoke or do drugs of any kind and drink only occasionally. I have 3 brothers who are all younger then me. My parents now live in the State of confusion, oh excuse me I met to say Pennsylvania the state of confusion probably is they had to raise a kid like me!  I was born at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland as my father was in the US Marines at the time.  I have been to the following countries :

Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa, Mexico, Canada, and a lot of small Island countries in the Pacific. What looking for women? No trying to get away from them!!!(^-^) Okay maybe just a little looking went on! Hey it doesn't hurt to look right? We call it window shopping here, still window shopping, and probably will be when I die. All said and done though I had a very good time visiting these countries and making friends, sampling the local cuisine (food) and learning about foreign customs. I have learned a lot about tolerance for other people and cultures because of my travels, it has enriched my life tremendously. I highly recommend it to anyone. Staying home and playing in your back yard is fun up to a point, after that you need to venture out of your neighborhood to make new friends find new music and learn more about the world around you

I do not watch much television although I do like to go watch a good movie. Most times I listen to music. I have a pretty wide interest in music depending on my mood and who might be with me. I usually like rock, pop, soft rock or what might be termed romantic music, Jazz, the Blues and Classical music. I also like International music so if you think you have something in your native tongue that you think that I might like please feel free to send it to me. I also make my own CD's both CD-ROM's for the computer and Music CD's. I have friends of many ethnicity at work and I enjoy people regardless of there country of origin. I am not to proud to admit when I am wrong or have made a mistake. I like jokes and humor. I read a lot and probably more then anything else I work. I work 12 hour shifts 5 or more days a week. Partly because I do not have anything else to do right now.  One of my desires or dreams is to write a novel, whether it is ever published is not a concern but I have a lot of ideas that I would like to put down on paper. I had some short stories published in a college book of literary stories although they were not all that good. I love computers and play with them all the time and of course I repair computers at work. I like to tinker with things and make things. I do not like to clean the house or do dishes part of the reason I eat frozen diners and dine out a lot! See we all have a down side to us!!!! I like doing things for my friends. I will do anything to help someone and I can be a very good listener. Okay so maybe I talk a little to much as evidenced by this web page!!! (^-^). Well enough about me. I am even putting myself to sleep here. Okay enough already. Hey just had a great idea pop into my head, okay so that doesn't happen to often, a great idea that is (^-^). How about you tell me something about yourself okay? Let me know what you think of this page, me(ouch) or yourself. I would be very interested in hearing about you, your family and your life. Come on now don't be afraid pickup your fingers and place them on the keyboard and begin to type. See it's pretty easy isn't it? Before you know it, you will have made a new friend! Don't let me down now, come talk to me, tell me what's going on in your life, your dreams, hopes and aspirations and tell me about your disappointments also, your sorrows and who has let you down in life. We have all been there before so don't worry no one here is going to criticize you or make fun of you.
