This is a special modem, when the problem occurs the eathernet light is either blinking rapidly or blinking so fast it appears solid.

1. Right click My Computer.
2. Click on properties.
3. Click on the hardware tab.
4. Click on Device manager.
5. Find Network Adapter and click the plus sign.
6. Right click on the network card that appears.
7. Click on properties.
8. Click on the Advanced tab.
9. "connection type" should appear in this list in some form or another. Click it.
10. If Auto-Negotiation appears in the tab to the right, Select 10BaseT FullDuplex.
11. Click Ok.
12. Can close the rest of the windows and see if that steadies the light and reconnects them.
