DSL is offline



If the power and dsl light are on and the online one is not.. it could be us or Quest.
  1. Make sure you do a ui and then a showvci on the user.
  2. "inbite 0 oubite 28" means the modem is in ppp mode.
  3. Find out what modem is in question and set it in bridge mode via this page, and 192.168.0.1


  4. You should try to first power cycleing the modem and computer.
  5. While doing that, do a ud in usrm to unsuspend their dsl.
  6. Wait and moment and try and showvci on the user again.
  7. If the inbites and outbites stay in o o, then check out the Quest data base.(Go to the Tech page, then to 'tech dsl stuff', and to Q-host.


  8. If inbites and outbites are normal
    Renewing the I.P
  9. Click on start.
  10. Click on Run.
  11. Type in ipconfig and hit enter.
  12. if the IP address comes back as 169 -> means computer is not comunicating. (it could be anything and we cant help this).
  13. if the IP comes back as anything other then a 216 then its not on a pci IP.
  14. 192.168.1.100 = router.
  15. go ahead and type "ipconfig /release" "ipconfig /renew" and see if it makes a difference.

    Another option is to check if the connection is automatically getting an IP or not.
  16. Click on Start.
  17. Click on Settings.
  18. Click on Network Connections.
  19. Right Click on the local connection.
  20. Click on Properties.
  21. Click on the Internet Protocal[TCP/IP], and Click Properties.
  22. Make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" is checked and not "Use the following IP address".
