RUMORED VARIATIONS I HAVE NOT SEEN: |
COMMANDO SPAWN |
COMMANDO SPAWN was the FIRST figure where a variation on the Weapons, rather than the figure itself, seemed to matter more to seasoned SPAWN figure collectors. 2nd Edition (with 7-20 Large Black Speckles on the Guns) still fetches premium prices from SPAWN enthusiasts. Also, when the Series 2 Repaints were released, only COMMANDO SPAWN’S Guns were changed- from Silver plastic to Gold plastic. COMMANDO SPAWN came with 2 Guns (one with a spring-loaded missle launcher and one without), 2 Knives and a removable headpiece that swivled down over his left eye. |
|
True White Accents. No Silver Paint on Visor Cross Hairs. No Black Speckles on Guns. |

Spring 1995 |
Approximately 700 genuine variants are known to exist. This variation can be VERY easy to fake, since all is needed is some paint thinner (to erase the speckles off of the Guns on a later release), Black paint, and good card glue. If you spot one, make sure the figure has True White accents. Later release figures did not have True White paint on their bodies, therefore they could not have the special guns. Then, inspect the bubble and rivets THOROUGHLY, as this is the most difficult part to fake on this variation. |

CHAPEL | The simulated Ammunition Packs strung from CHAPEL’S right shoulder down to the left side of his waist were not painted in early productions of the figure. ANGELA | A subtle package variation creates a few different versions of ANGELA. There is a Promotional Sticker on the Left Front side of the outer-bubble that says "From America's Best Selling Comic Book” that covered ANGELA’S Sword accessory. The inner-bubble ANGELA was packaged in was altered so that her Sword would be fully visible, rather than the sticker covering it. The reason why the location of the sticker was not altered (which probably would have been easier to do instead of re-sculpting a bubble pack) is unknown. ANGELA also has no apparent SET release/fix history, as several versions were released with early variation characteristics late in the Series 2 run. ANGELA came with a Sword and removable Sword belt, as well as a Staff that had a spring-loaded, launching Tip. And, as always, ANGELA RULES! |
