Series 8 Action Figures
Assortment Number: 10190

The Spawn Logo color change from the Series 7 Orange Color to the Series 8 Blue Color, and a New, Grid/Fabric-Like Texture on the card back are the main differences between the Series 7 and Series 8 figures.

Information stickers appear on various outside corners of the bubble-packs. They are Black in color with an Blue Skull design on the Original Versions of the figures, while a Sticker that says “2nd Edition” is used on the bubbles of the Repaints.

All peg-hole die-cuts on the Series 8 cards are round.

When an accessory or sticker is referred to as being on the left or right side of a bubble pack, the reference point is from the perspective of looking directly at the front of an unopened figure.

The Assortment and Master Numbers for each figure can be found on the front lower right hand side of the card.

The Series Number "8" is found on the front lower left hand side of the card, which denotes the figure as a member of Series 8.

Each figure has a Two-Letter Identification Code that can be used to browse the figures easily while they are hanging on pegs. This code can be found on the front lower left hand side of the card, below the series number. Series 8 was the SECOND group of SPAWN Ultra-Action Figures that used this type of coding.

Major Variation For Series 8 (Series Variation):
The Series 8 Repaints have different stickers than the Original Versions on the outside corners of their figure bubbles.
The Original Versions have a Blue Skull Design while the Repaints have a Blue sticker that says “2nd Edition.”
The word “SKULL” will be used for for the Blue Skull Design, while a “2ND” will be used for the Blue “2nd Edition” sticker.

Which Corporate Logo appears on the Card: McFarlane Toys (MCF).
Just an "MCF" will be used in bold print since ALL of the Series 8 figures have the McFarlane Toys logo.

Release Date in regular type:
Approximate month and year the figure was released in the United States of America.

Figure “Firsts” in regular type:
Special Attributes about a particular variant that make it a milestone in the SPAWN Action Figure toy line.
Exclusive Figures will have the name of the outlet where they may have been purchased from and the approximate quantities that were released to the general public in this field.

These figures are ones I have either heard of OR read about, but I have never PHYSICALLY SEEN them! They may exist, but I have no physical proof. (i.e. A commercially released GATEKEEPER with Yellow/Brown Skin).

RENEGADE

RENEGADE included a molded and painted plastic Eagle which could sit on his wrist. The figure also included a Buffalo Skull Headdress with thick Black hair, a Spear, an Axe, a Crossbow (which could fire the Arrows included), a small Knife and an Arm Shield with the SPAWN Emblem on it. The 2nd Edition figure (Repaint) came with a War Club and a new Spear, but no Axe.

CURSE OF THE SPAWN

CURSE OF THE SPAWN came with Two Bone “Wings” that attached to his back. A lever in the figures’ back activated a “flying” motion. He also came with a Sword-like Blade and Staff on which a large, removable Blade rested.

GRAVE DIGGER

GRAVE DIGGER was packaged with 5 “bend ‘em” mini-figures that his bio referred to as “Cohorts.” All of the “Cohorts” EXCEPT for the TWO closest to GRAVE DIGGER are packaged the same way in every figure bubble.

A FEW SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT GRAVE DIGGER:
GRAVE DIGGER has the second highest number of possible variations in the entire SPAWN Action Figure Line, mostly because of the “Cohorts” (The five “bend ’em” demon-like figures) and a lot of subtle package variations. (Only the Series 12 THE HEAP has more possible variants).

This section is intended to give you a better understanding of what makes GRAVE DIGGER so special.

GRAVE DIGGER initially shipped in a bubble that extended 3 inches off of the figure card. This left about a 1 inch gap between the figure in the inner bubble and the card. The later versions of GRAVE DIGGER shipped in a bubble that rose 2 inches off of the card, leaving no gap between the figure in the inner bubble and the card. This is the easiest way to tell early versions of GRAVE DIGGER apart from ones that shipped later. Using this package variation, one can easily tell early Series 8 shipments from those that arrived later.

The variations below are listed in the order in which they were confirmed- which is not necessarily the order in which they were released. The 3 inch bubbles, however, were definitely released first, while the Repaint version(s) were definitely released toward the end of the Series 8 run.

When the color of a “Cohort” changes in the order it is listed, it means that different plastic was used, and the actual “Cohort” itself was the same mold true to its position in the package, but its color has changed.

FOR EXAMPLE: The First “Cohort” listed has Two Horns, and in the 1st Edition Package, it is Green in color.
In the 3rd Edition Package, The First “Cohort” with Two Horns is now Blue in color--
